Stapleton House

Links have developed a strong relationship with Unite and having completed the 1000 bed scheme, Stratford One, understand the quality that Unite require for their student housing.

The £39m scheme, Stapleton House is a ten storey development consisting of three buildings located on Holloway Road, Islington. The project will provide 862 new student beds including cluster flats and studios. Also offering commercial space, reception areas and common rooms with the project team commencing on site in January 2016. Links are constantly investing in product development, bringing new innovations and solutions to not only this project, but the market as a whole.

Links CEO Deborah Tebay-Williams remarks, ‘Links are proud to be working together with Balfour Beatty to deliver a further key project on behalf of Unite-Students and look forward to bringing our creative intelligence to the table once more.’

Stapleton House will be welcoming students in September 2016.

Ablett House

Our Senior Design Manager, Frances talks about the process used to create the space ‘Each scheme has been designed according to its location which is reflected in our choice of materials, colour scheme and artwork. All of the social spaces have their own identity and create a home from home for the students. The designs incorporate different zones for students to relax, study and enjoy the spaces whilst creating a hub to meet up with other residents and feel part of the community.’.

Ablett House is an outstanding example of how Links incorporate contemporary, functional design with the local history of the site location – design that supports quality is a natural part of Links brand identity and soul.

Client feedback is hugely important to Links, and this year it has been extremely positive – ‘they look fantastic – exactly the kind of impact and uplift in specification that we envisaged when we first engaged with you last year’.

Whilst having the opportunity to catch up with existing clients and professionals such as main contractors and architects, the team were enthused to have been given the chance of meeting senior personnel from Universities spanning the whole of the United Kingdom.

Design At Links

The members of our Design team have in depth knowledge of CAD (Computer Aided Design), interior design and the creation of exceptional CGI’s. This wealth of invaluable knowledge allows us to raise the bar in the way student accommodation is delivered.

Having this unique team in-house allows us to cater directly to our client’s needs from the very start of the process. Meaning we can not only oversee the manufacture, installation and after care of the project but also design every aspect of the scheme; whether it be a Kitchen, Bedroom, Studio or Social Space.

Vision of Bedford

This project was special due to its innovative construction method, whereby the rooms were completely fitted off site in Bedford, transported to Wembley and crane lifted into the structure, Using ‘Vison Modular Structures’.

The Vision Structural module arrives to site almost fully finished internally with many services in place. Plumbing and wiring are completed in the module withsite connections required between adjacent modules and into the cores. Kitchens and bathrooms are complete with all fixed furniture in place.

Links are always keen to work on projects with new and exciting construction methods and with the use of Visual Modular Structures Karma House certainly didn’t disappoint.
