After an amazing five years at our Fence Avenue office in Macclesfield, it's exciting times for Links as we move into new offices, The School House in Chelford. The self-contained offices have been recently refurbished to an exceptionally high standard and are able to accommodate our plans for continual growth.
Links latest PRS scheme has recently caught the attention of the national press. The Old Oak by The Collective is the first example of a co-living concept which offers residents a new way to live in London.
Links had the pleasure of attending and exhibiting at this year’s Association for Student Residential Accommodation (ASRA) conference. It’s reoccurring topic for 2016 was very much on the importance of student health and well-being during their time at university.
We have recently welcomed Alicia Nelson into our design team here at Links. Alicia graduated from Birmingham City University with a BA (Hons) in Interior Design.
Recently some of the team took on Breakout Manchester! However, not all were able to escape!
Links were recently given the opportunity to exhibit at the 2015 Student Accommodation Conference; hosted by Property Week, at Etc.venues, Bishopgate, London.
This year Links embraced the Christmas spirit early by taking part in the Samaritans Operation Christmas Child appeal.
Links have been awarded yet another flag ship scheme, working on behalf of Balfour Beatty and Unite-Students to deliver Stapleton House.
After winning Knightsbridge’s Design Competition in 2014 Links began installation of the 5 common rooms awarded to us this summer. The brief was to create interiors that students are wowed by and a home for students in a building with an identity, not just another institutional environment.
The Links team has grown tremendously over the past year and this summer Vanessa joined us as our Business Development Manager, working alongside Deborah and Ian as a Brand Ambassador for Links.
Links received some more fantastic news recently – Marina, our KTP associate / Strategic BIM Manager was nominated for the Student Employee of the Year Award in Commercial Impact– off Campus Category and has won!
Last week Links were shortlisted for the RICS BIM4SME Awards 2015. These awards recognise and promote the achievements and adoption of BIM by small and medium businesses, showcasing excellence, promoting best practice and highlighting the tremendous opportunities BIM presents.
Within the past twelve months Links, in partnership with The University of Salford have begun the implementation of BIM.
Links were invited this year, to exhibit at the 2015 AUDE Conference at Stirling University.
One of our first projects of 2015 is now underway – Arran House in Edinburgh. This purpose built student accommodation will be home to over 300 students, all of which will be living in high-end, bespoke en-suite bedrooms or Studios provided by Links.
Our growing design department here at Links are constantly striving to innovate student living, by incorporating beauty, form and function into each scheme.
One of Links’ latest projects, coming to completion early this year is Karma House, Wembley - a new purpose built Student Accommodation building where Links have been responsible for the manufacture and installation of 110 Studios, 340 Bedrooms and 68 Kitchens.
2015 is the busiest year to date for Links! With 32 projects (about 5000 rooms!) secured at this early stage it’s safe to say we have an exciting year ahead. Developing a strong relationship with old clients and working with new we will be ensuring results meet the high standard that they have come to expect from Links.
Links are lucky enough to be involved in some fantastic events this year and we can’t wait for them to start - with The AUDE conference, BIM Show Live, ASRA (Association for Student Residential Accommodation), CUBO and The Student Accommodation Conference to name a few.
