Within the past twelve months Links, in partnership with The University of Salford have begun the implementation of BIM.
The first stage was to set a benchmark of best practice of BIM within the UK. The second was to review and analyse Links’ work process and workflows – allowing us to view our strengths and see where we have room for improvement. We are currently coming to the end of Stage 3 – Process re-engineering, where we are looking into how to exploit technologies to improve our workflow.
Via workshops and meetings our Strategic BIM Manager, Marina has informed and listened to the feedback of all Links employees – a fantastic example of how BIM can improve collaboration helping us to move forward.
Marina recently attended BIM Show Live 2015 where she was part of a panel discussing BIM for SMEs. Marina touched on the challenges ahead and how successful the implementation has been for Links, the event was a great success and Links look forward to attending in the future.
Links has an exciting period ahead, with the implementation of new technology and putting our BIM strategy into practice. Links are definitely on track to be fully operational in a BIM environment from design, through to manufacture and fitting.
